As an owner, you play a vital role in the overall health of your horse. Your knowledge and preparedness, along with your horse’s demeanor, can limit or expand the options for their care. Dr. Stephanie Miesen will teach you how to be prepared for common equine medical issues and how to treat your horse when they suffer from these issues. 

Learn How To:
Take a temperature safely
Assess heart rate and respiratory rate
Give oral medications
Safely apply eye ointment
Safely wrap hoof abscesses
Give intramuscular injections

In the NUTRENA PROFORCE ROOM

Dr. Miesen will give an overview of the anatomy, injuries and disease of the horse eye. Treatment options and how to apply medications to the eye will also be covered.

In the NUTRENA LOYALL ROOM

Purchasing a horse can be stressful and full of unknowns. Dr. Batker will discuss what to look for and ask before scheduling a pre-purchase exam or buying as well as what to expect during a pre-purchase exam.

In the NUTRENA LOYALL ROOM

Learn details in the functional anatomy of the horse and how movement can be beneficial or detrimental in lameness and reduced performance. Dr. Anderson will be joined by physical therapist Emily Rose from Reaching Strides Equine Rehabilitation to give a state of the art presentation.

This is an educational event for farriers and vets hosted in our facility. These events are to promote collaboration and continual learning of new techniques.
